Nod to one of my favorite Art Professors... Mary Ann Scherr
In 1994 & 1995 I took jewelry/metalworking classes with Professor Scherr at Meredith College in Raleigh. She was 73 when I met her. She taught me more about 2-D design, form following function and how to in the words of Tim Gunn "make it work" than any other Art professor, ever. She passed this past week at the grand age of 94. Andy Warhol used to collect the cookie jars she designed and were sold at the time for $3. It has been reported that he later sold those jars for $20,000.
